Club Membership

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

The following are the main categories of membership of the Club:

Ordinary Members – men and ladies elected as members who shall pay such Entrance fee, Annual Subscription and other payments as are applicable and who shall be entitled to vote at all General Meetings of their respective Clubs and of the Joint Club.

5 Day Members – men and ladies over the age of eighteen years duly elected, who shall normally be entitled to use the course on weekdays Monday to Friday and the club facilities at all times.

Overseas/Country Members – men and ladies. Members in this category must reside more than 50 miles from the Club premises. Such members will not be entitled to compete in Club competitions, except at the discretion of the Committee.

Clubhouse Membership - WITH LIMITED PLAYING RIGHTS

This membership category entitles the member to use the Clubhouse facilities of Delgany Golf Club and to participate in all social events held in the Club. Members will receive ten green fees for their personal use (maximum two per month) and the opportunity to participate in four Club Competitions in 2010:

Bank Holiday Monday, 3rd May
Bank Holiday Monday, 7th June
Captains’ Prize Sunday, 11th July
Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd August

Clubhouse Members must have their GUI or ILGU Handicap to participate in Competitions. Clubhouse Members with Limited Playing Rights may nominate Delgany Golf Club as their home Club provided they meet the conditions for handicap purposes as set out by the GUI and ILGU.

The costs associated with this category of membership in 2010 are:

  • Clubhouse Subscription (inclusive of ten green fees) €570
  • Social Levy (to be spent in the Bar, Catering and Green Fees) €300
  • Capital Levy € 50
  • Insurance € 20

+ GUI or ILGU subscription and levies as applicable.

Clubhouse members with limited playing rights may also avail of discounted green fees of €30 midweek and €40 at weekends.

Junior Associates - Young persons aged over 10 and under 18 years, on the payment of such Annual Subscription as the members in a General Meeting decide, may be elected as Junior Associates. They shall be allowed to play on the course and use the Club premises subject to the regulations of their rights and privileges as decided by the Committee from time to time and as set out in the bye-laws.

Student Associates - Persons aged over 18 years and under 26 years who are in proven full time education at the time of payment of such Annual Subscription as the members at an Annual General Meeting decide, may be elected yearly as Student Associates, subject to the regulations of their rights and privileges, as may be decided by the Committee from time to time and set out in the bye-laws.

Intermediate Associates - Persons aged over 18 and under 30 years, on the payment of such Annual Subscription as is applicable may be elected Intermediate Associates, subject to regulation of their rights and privileges as decided by the Management Committee from time to time and as set out in the Membership Rules. Intermediate Associates over the age of 26 on 1st January in the year of application shall also pay an instalment of an Entrance fee as determined by the Management Committee.

MEMBERSHIP ELECTIONS

Applications for the above categories must in all instances be proposed by one and seconded by two Category A Members of the Club, who shall have been a category A or B Member for at least two years at the date and to whom such candidates must be personally known and acquainted for at least two years. A list of applications shall be posted by the General Manager in the clubhouse at least two weeks prior to the meeting at which such applications are to be considered. Admission of members in the forgoing categories shall be by election of the Management Committee. Each member shall be restricted to one new proposal in each category whether by way of proposer or seconder, in any one year. Proposals initiated in previous years do not count in this restriction. If, for any reason a proposal is brought forward from a previous year, where either the proposer or the seconder is not a current category A member, a new proposer or seconder, duly qualified, will be required.
